Careering Into Play examined how to up-skill the children’s play
and childcare sector through projects that improved the quality of jobs,
promoted continued professional development and furthered the training
infrastructure:
The University of Gloucestershire’s Diploma
of Higher Education and a BA Honours in Playwork, used distance learning
as a means of providing accessible materials for playworkers, offering
a range of stand-alone
modules to encourage incremental learning.
A comprehensive range of SkillsActive’s
projects. These promoted a skilled playwork sector to improve
the quality and sustainability of jobs, the training infrastructure
for playwork and encourage inclusivity in the sector.
Gloucestershire Resource Centre’s programme
has raised awareness of cultural
diversity among local groups in the play field and combat racism
within childcare environments through access to play information and
learning materials.
