Gloucestershire Resource Centre's Project

Its involvement in the EQUIPE Project was focused in the provision of training workshops for trainers. Their main objective was:

  • To raise awareness of cultural diversity among local groups in the play field in Gloucestershire and combat racism within childcare environments through access to play information and learning materials.

Project Outputs

  • Training events focusing on challenging discrimination and celebrating cultural difference. Each training event was aimed to support playworkers and extend their knowledge in a different area relating to play and care work.
  • Information packs detailing history and traditions surrounding the festivals of Guru Nanak’s birthday, Diwali, Hanukah - with ideas for play activities and methods on incorporating the celebration into the play organisations’ annual schedule - available through the GRC.
  • Evaluation report on outcome of training events.
  • KIFANI - an event bringing together suppliers of educational and play resources alongside multicultural training workshops for play, childcare and youth workers.
