University of Gloucestershire's Project

Through EQUIPE, the University aimed to further develop its distance learning programme for playwork.

The course has been developed by playworkers for playworkers and offers an accessible way for the playwork field to gain a higher education qualification.

The University has further developed the course to offer playworkers an opportunity to gain a Diploma of Higher Education or a Degree in Playwork. The syllabus and content of the course has been driven by the needs of the field and has been contributed too by Playwork Partnerships, playwork practitioners and academics alike. Their main objectives were:

  • To develop and deliver materials for Diploma of Higher Education in Playwork by distance learning, promoting access to higher level qualifications for the playwork sector.
  • To develop and deliver materials for BA Hons in Playwork by distance learning, promoting access to higher level qualifications for the playwork sector.
